Content warning: Stan being a creep, mentions of cannibalism, and mention of one scene with a needle.

I already introduced the main characters Kai the undead assassin, Xev the escaped sex slave, 790 the horny robot head, and Stanley the security guard but there was another passenger on the ship when they escaped. Giggerota the wicked. I didn’t mention her as she didn’t really do much in episode 1, in fact it had looked like Kai had killed her pretty quickly. Surprise she’s not dead and does a lot this episode. Her backstory is that she was imprisoned for 62 counts of cannibalism (to which she comments “more like 162”). She is violent and animalistic, wears furs and speaks in a manner where she refers to herself in third person and gives everyone a nickname.

Further Background: During episode 1 the Lexx became keyed to Stanley to fly it only. You need his hand and his voice.

The episode begins with Stan being a creep while Xev has a shower scene. (this show gets weirdly horny a lot) and he tries to convince her that seeing as how they’re the only people around they might as well sex. Xev is having none of it and is hot for Kai dead or not. Stan threatens suicide to get a kiss from Xev and that’s shitty but is overshadowed by the fact that Stan apparently has no effing idea how to kiss people. Seriously it’s pathetically awkward.

Stan on the right kissing Xev on the left. He's got his lips pursed way out like a duckface poste while Xev is basically having no reaction at all and just letting him.
Seriously Stan duckface is for selfies not smoochies.

Yeah, Stan’s a creep. Anyways they decide to travel to Kai’s long dead home planet to see if they have a way to prolong his life. (I guess he’s from this second universe they entered?).

Upon arrival they notice that the sun is close to going supernova but is held in place by stabilizers on the planet. Further there is a second smaller sun that Kai doesn’t remember. Kai, Xev and Stan go down to the planet to explore it’s archives and are greeted by automated holographic tour guides.

At least someone puts an effort into their wardrobe.

However it seems that one of the planet’s inhabitants uploaded himself into the hologram to avoid death. The inhabitant is known as the poet man and is played by Tim Curry. He spends the episode taunting them, saying strange poems and then attempting to experiment on them.

The three each enter into a different room of the archive and seem to end up in some sort of mindscape hallucination. Xev at first is made to relive horrible childhood memories but then breaks free and Kai appears. They dance and have a short musical number. We don’t see anything from Kai before meeting up with Xev. They both then wake up strapped to tables where HoloTim wants to cut them in half lengthways. I legit missed why, I think it has something to do with how stuff is stored in the archives as we see a lot of cross sections of people.

Meanwhile Stan enters the lava lamp dimension and tells HoloTim that he’s lonely and is seeking love. HoloTim scans Stan and the machine malfunctions registering Stan as a woman. HoloTim apparently wants his line to live on so he straps Stan down and attempts to inject him with a needle, don’t watch this episode if you’re scared of needles. Fortunately he is rescued by…… Giguretta.

Stan walking by 2 giant red lava lamps with the lava from a third even bigger one floating in the background.
Stan what the hell did you take?

Back on the ship Giguretta pulled herself out of the pit she’d been thrown in episode 1. She made her way to the brain room and began eating the brains. However she found them too salty (learning all kinds of new things like what flavor brains are). To protect themselves from the violent scary woman the brains talk to her and promise to take her to a planet of strapping young men she can eat if she spares them and bring Stanley back to fly the ship while leaving the others behind.

A woman sitting at a table with a large knife and fork about to eat a smiling young lad who's mostly naked and has a milk mustache. he is crouched on a platter piled with vegetables and flowers.
Times where I’m glad I’m not watching this in HD

So Giguretta takes a shuttle down to the planet. Small aside the shuttle is also organic and shaped like a dragonfly and she eats a random piece of the console while they fly down. She saves Stan and he goes with her until he realizes she’s unpausing the supernova and leaving the others behind. Stan pathetically attempts to fight back and fails and she cuts his hand off and leaves him behind as well.

One hand Stan wanders the archives until stumbling on a recording that a prophet left for him telling him exactly where to go to rescue Kai and Xev. I mean exactly where to go with directions and everything.

Meanwhile back on the ship Giguretta learns that she also needs Stan’s voice to pilot the ship so flies back down to the planet but leaves the hand on the controls. The brains are able to mimic Stan’s voice and attempt to fly off with the Lexx.

Stan does manage to rescue the other two but they are not able to turn the stabilizers back on in time to stop the supernova. Seeing that they have no way to escape they go out to watch a sun explode because why not.

Then literal actual divine intervention happens. Surprise the suns are sentient, the unfamiliar star (which also healed Kai from being cut in half) suddenly pulls the Lexx back to the planet, and then it talks to the group and tells them it’s not their time to die yet. The group boards the Lexx and gets the hell out of there before the two suns combine and explode. Giguretta meanwhile was still down there and cheers and demands the suns put on a show for her as they explode and vaporize her. flies off and escapes while a trapped Giguretta watches the supernova explode.

Kai is once again put on ice, though at least during the episode he had gained a bit more of the will to keep trying rather than accepting death at least and we continue on.

And of course the part you’ve all been waiting for. Outfit of the episode. This one comes from the hallucinatory musical number where Kai wore…. this:

Kai and Xev are dancing with each other and Kai is wearing a matching shirt and pants combo that are just a swirl of colors and rips. There's a lot of different stripes too. The colors are largely pink and blue tones.
I…. I have nothing. Oh Lord.

I think it’s some sort of official Brunnen-G outfit as in episode 1 he was wearing this while piloting a fighter craft before the Shadow killed him.
